Green - Before Green Was Cool!
Emerald Forest Incorporated was born in 1989 when the founder and current president saw a niche for a company specializing in the restoration and creation of wetland habitats. This need for a service was spawned by the requirements for restoration or compensation imposed by government agencies during the environmental permitting process. We decided to go green before going green was cool.
Today Emerald Forest has grown into a multi-faceted firm specializing in the restoration and creation of local native habitats throughout the mid-Atlantic region of the US. Our staff provides over 45 years of knowledge and hands-on experience in the fields of landscaping, horticulture, forestry, ecology and environmental regulatory procedures and permitting.
From our principal office in Chesapeake, VA and satellite office in Moyock, NC, we have been instrumental in the design, implementation and management of native habitats, stormwater ponds and wastewater wetlands in Virginia, North Carolina Maryland and Delaware for over 25 years. We provide our unique services to industry, non-profits, local municipalities, property owners and various agencies of State and Federal Government.
